Frooty Açaí

Frooty is a pioneer brand in the commercialization of açaí berry products, credited with playing a major role in popularizing açaí consumption outside the Amazon region of Brazil. Founded in the 1990s, the company established itself by creating a standardized, frozen, and ready-to-consume form of the fruit, often blended with guarana syrup.

All Frooty products are manufactured in Brazil, specifically sourcing berries from the Amazon rainforest through sustainable harvesting practices. The company operates high-tech processing plants in regions like São Paulo and Pará to maintain the nutritional integrity and flavor of the fruit during exportation and local distribution.

While originally a family-founded business, Frooty has grown significantly through private equity investment. Since around 2017, the brand has been under the control of the private equity firm Patria Investimentos, which has helped expand its footprint across South America, the United States, and Europe, turning a local Brazilian staple into a global health-food brand.
