Delhaize is a legendary retail brand with deep roots in Belgian history, established in 1867 by the Delhaize brothers and their brother-in-law in Charleroi. Famous for its 'Le Lion' (The Lion) logo, the brand pioneered the concept of self-service supermarkets in Europe and remains a household name in Belgium. Today, Delhaize operates as a prominent local brand within a massive global portfolio, focusing on quality, sustainability, and fresh produce.

Manufacturing for Delhaize-branded products is strategically distributed. A significant portion of fresh goods and local staples is produced within Belgium to support regional agriculture and maintain product quality. However, as part of a global retail network, many of its long-shelf-life goods, snacks, and specialty items are manufactured across Europe through a harmonized supply chain that serves multiple Ahold Delhaize markets.

Headquartered in Zaandam, Netherlands, this multinational giant is one of the world's largest food retail groups.
