Kofila is an iconic coffee-flavored chocolate bar that has been a staple of Central European confectionery culture for over a century. Known for its distinctive yellow packaging featuring a graphic character of a Moor tasting coffee, the brand was launched in 1923 by the Orion chocolate factory in Prague. The recipe combines smooth milk chocolate with a fine coffee cream filling, maintaining a high level of popularity in the Czech and Slovak markets.
Today, the production of Kofila remains rooted in its heritage, manufactured primarily at the Orion factory (Zora Olomouc) in the Czech Republic. The brand underwent significant corporate transitions following the fall of the Eastern Bloc, eventually being acquired as part of the Orion portfolio. Since 1992, the brand has been under the stewardship of Nestlé, which has modernized production while preserving the classic flavor profile and iconic visual identity that fans have recognized for generations.
