Persil Liquid Laundry Detergent

Persil is one of the world's most recognized laundry detergent brands, with a history dating back to 1907. It was originally developed by Henkel in Germany and was the first 'self-acting' laundry detergent, combining sodium perborate and silicate to eliminate the need for hard scrubbing.

Today, the brand's ownership is split due to historical licensing agreements. In most of Europe and other global markets, the brand remains owned and manufactured by Henkel. However, in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and parts of Oceania, the brand is owned by Unilever. In North America, Henkel re-introduced the brand in 2015, manufacturing products locally to compete in the premium detergent segment. Production facilities are located across Germany, the United States, and other regional hubs to serve local markets.
