Albalact Milk

Albalact is one of the most prominent dairy brands in Romania, with a rich history rooted in the Alba county region. The brand was established following the privatization of a state-owned dairy factory and quickly grew to become a market leader in the local dairy sector, known for its wide range of fresh milk, yogurt, and cheese products.

While the brand originated as a local Romanian entity, its success and market share attracted international investment. In 2016, Albalact was acquired by the French multinational dairy giant, Lactalis. This acquisition integrated the Romanian brand into the world's largest dairy products group, providing it with global expertise and resources while maintaining its strong local presence and manufacturing facilities in Romania, specifically in Oiejdea, Alba county.

Today, Albalact operates as a key subsidiary of the Lactalis Group. The manufacturing remains localized in Romania to ensure the freshness of its milk products, while benefitng from the corporate governance and strategic direction of its ultimate owner headquartered in Laval, France.
