Pilóta biscuit

Pilóta is one of Hungary's most iconic sweet treats, first created in 1960. The name 'Pilóta' (Pilot) was inspired by survival kits given to pilots during World War II, which often contained energy-dense biscuits and chocolate. Throughout the decades, it has remained a staple of Hungarian confectionery culture, known primarily for its classic cocoa-flavored sandwich biscuit filled with smooth cream.

While the brand originated at the Győri Keksz factory in Győr, production has shifted locations over the years but remains firmly rooted in Hungary. Today, it is manufactured in Székesfehérvár. Ownership has changed hands through various international acquisitions of the Győri Keksz portfolio, moving from Danone to Kraft Foods, and finally to its current global parent company.

Since 2012, the brand has been under the ultimate ownership of Mondelez International. This transition integrated the traditional Hungarian snack into a massive global network of snacking brands, though the recipe and production have maintained their local identity to satisfy generations of loyal consumers in Central Europe.
