President's Choice (PC) is a prominent Canadian private-label brand launched in 1984. It was created to provide high-quality alternatives to national brands, initially gaining fame through its 'Decadent' Chocolate Chip Cookie. While the brand originated as a premium store label for the Loblaws supermarket chain, it has since grown into a massive household name across Canada.
The orange juice offered under the President's Choice label is typically processed and packaged in Canada. While the raw ingredients, such as oranges, are often sourced from major citrus-producing regions like Florida or Brazil due to the Canadian climate, the blending, pasteurization, and final packaging occur at Canadian facilities to serve the domestic market.
Today, the brand is owned by George Weston Limited, following a restructuring of the Weston family interests. It remains the flagship private label for Loblaw Companies Limited, which is Canada's largest food retailer. This ownership structure ensures that the brand maintains a strictly Canadian identity while operating as a dominant force in the retail and grocery sectors.
