Mazda CX-30

The Mazda CX-30 is a subcompact crossover SUV that was first introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. Positioned between the CX-3 and the CX-5, it serves as a modern staple in Mazda's global lineup, emphasizing the brand's 'Kodo' design philosophy and Skyactiv technology.

Mazda maintains a highly centralized engineering and design process based in Japan, but production is strategically distributed globally to serve various markets. The CX-30 is primarily manufactured at the Hiroshima and Hofu plants in Japan for international markets, but it is also produced in Salamanca, Mexico, for North American and European demand, Chonburi, Thailand, for Southeast Asia, and through joint ventures in Nanjing, China.

As of 2024, Mazda remains a largely independent Japanese automaker. While it maintains a capital alliance with Toyota (with both companies holding small stakes in each other), absolute control over the brand rests with the Mazda Motor Corporation. The brand is celebrated for its premium-tier brand positioning and its commitment to driving dynamics, often referred to as 'Jinba Ittai' (horse and rider as one).
