Godiva Chocolatier is a world-renowned premium chocolate brand with a rich heritage that began in Brussels, Belgium, in 1926. Founded by the Draps family and named after the legendary Lady Godiva, the brand established itself as a symbol of luxury and Belgian craftsmanship. For decades, it remained a family-owned business before being acquired by Campbell Soup Company in the late 1960s, helping the brand expand into the North American market.

Today, Godiva is under the ownership of Pladis, a global confectionery giant headquartered in London. Pladis was formed by the Turkish conglomerate Yıldız Holding to manage its international snack and chocolate brands. While the brand maintains its traditional production facility in Brussels to service the European and international markets, it also operates a major manufacturing plant in Reading, Pennsylvania, for its North American consumer base. This blend of Belgian tradition and global infrastructure ensures its truffles and pralines reach over 100 countries while maintaining its reputation for gourmet quality.
