CD is a historical German personal care brand founded in 1961 by Elfriede Dicke. The brand is well-known for its 'CD Reinheitsgebot' (purity law) philosophy, promising products free from mineral oils, silicones, parabens, and synthetic colorants. While it was once owned by the Unilever group, it was sold to Lornamead, a specialist in heritage brands.
Today, Lornamead—and by extension the CD brand—is part of the Fung Group (via Li & Fung), a global supply chain manager headquartered in Hong Kong. Despite its international ownership, CD remains deeply rooted in the German market, with its headquarters in Norderstedt and the majority of its production taking place within Germany to maintain its quality standards.
