Seattle's Best Coffee is a prominent American coffee brand that traces its roots back to 1970 when it was founded as Stewart Brothers Coffee on Vashon Island, Washington. After winning a local competition for the best cup of coffee in Seattle, the brand was renamed Seattle's Best Coffee. Over several decades, it evolved from a small roasting operation into a major retail and wholesale brand known for its smooth-roasted profile.
In 2003, the brand was acquired by Starbucks Corporation, which significantly expanded its distribution into grocery stores, convenience stores, and fast-food partnerships. In late 2022, Nestlé announced an agreement to acquire the Seattle's Best Coffee brand from Starbucks as part of their ongoing Global Coffee Alliance. This transaction was finalized in early 2023, placing the brand under Nestlé's extensive global portfolio.
Today, Seattle's Best Coffee is managed by Nestlé, leveraging the company's massive supply chain and distribution network. While much of the coffee for the North American market is roasted and packaged in the United States, Nestlé's global infrastructure allows for production and distribution capabilities across multiple international regions to meet consumer demand.
