The Arrows brand originated in the United Kingdom, established by a collection of former team members from Shadow Racing. The team's primary manufacturing and technical facilities were centered in Leafield, Oxfordshire, which became a hub for their engineering and development efforts throughout their tenure in Formula One racing spanning from 1978 to 2002.
Over the years, the brand underwent several ownership changes, most notably being acquired by Tom Walkinshaw's TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) group in the late 1990s. Despite its significant presence in the sport and notable drivers like Hill and Verstappen, the brand eventually ceased operations due to financial difficulties. Today, while the competitive team no longer exists, the legacy of Arrows survives through its historical contributions to motorsport and the subsequent use of its facilities by later F1 entries like Super Aguri and Caterham.
