Cholula Hot Sauce is a world-renowned condiment originally created in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. The brand is named after the 2,500-year-old city of Cholula, the oldest still-inhabited city in Mexico. It is famous for its iconic wooden cap and the portrait of 'La Chalupera' on the label, representing the tradition and heritage of Mexican culinary arts.

While the brand has deep Mexican roots and continues to be manufactured in Mexico to maintain its authentic flavor profile, its ownership has transitioned over the years. Originally produced by the Harrison family, it was later acquired by L Catterton. In 2020, the global food giant McCormick & Company reached an agreement to acquire the brand, integrating it into their extensive portfolio of spices and sauces. This acquisition has helped expand Cholula’s distribution network globally while preserving its original manufacturing base in Mexico.
