Bank of Japan 10,000 Yen Banknote (Series N)

The image depicts the Series N 10,000 yen banknote issued by the Bank of Japan, which began circulation in July 2024. This specific banknote features the portrait of Shibusawa Eiichi, often referred to as the 'father of Japanese capitalism.' The reverse side of the note historically features an illustration of Tokyo Station. These notes incorporate advanced anti-counterfeiting technologies, including high-definition watermarks and 3D holograms that change based on the viewing angle.

The production of Japanese banknotes occurs domestically at the National Printing Bureau of Japan. The issuance and management of the currency are controlled solely by the Bank of Japan, the nation's central bank. This new series was introduced to improve security features and promote tactile recognition for the visually impaired, marking the first major redesign of Japanese currency in two decades.
