Royal Copenhagen is one of Denmark's most iconic heritage brands, founded in 1775 under the protection of Queen Juliane Marie. The design shown is the Blue Fluted Mega pattern, created in 2000 by Karen Kjældgård-Larsen as a bold reinterpretation of the classic 1775 pattern.
While the brand is deeply rooted in Danish history and craftsmanship, the majority of its porcelain production was moved from Denmark to Thailand in the early 2000s to ensure the brand's economic survival. Today, most items, including these thermal mugs, are manufactured in Royal Copenhagen's own facilities in Thailand, where craftsmen are trained to maintain the brand's tradition of hand-painting.
The brand is currently owned by the Fiskars Group, a Finnish conglomerate that acquired Royal Copenhagen in 2013. Fiskars continues to manage the brand as a premium global design house, preserving its Danish aesthetic while operating under Finnish corporate ownership.
