Trident Peppermint Chewing Gum

Trident is a world-renowned brand of sugar-free chewing gum that revolutionized the market when it was introduced. It was originally developed in the United States by the American Chicle Company in the early 1960s as the first patented sugarless gum, designed to promote dental health. The brand was later acquired by Warner-Lambert and then Pfizer before becoming a cornerstone of the Mondelēz International portfolio.

Starting in late 2023 and into 2024, the gum business of Mondelēz International in developed markets (including Canada and the US) was acquired by the Perfetti Van Melle Group. This acquisition makes Perfetti Van Melle, an Italian-Dutch multinational company, the ultimate owner of the Trident brand in these regions. Manufacturing of Trident gum occurs in multiple locations globally, including facilities in Mexico and Turkey, to serve international markets like Canada.
