Pambac is one of the most established and recognizable food brands in Romania, specifically within the milling and pasta-making sectors. Founded in 1968 as a state-owned enterprise in Bacău, the brand evolved significantly after the fall of communism, eventually becoming a private company in 1995. It has built a reputation for providing essential food staples like wheat flour and a variety of pasta shapes to the local market.
Currently, the brand is owned by the Pambac S.A. company, which operates one of the largest and most modern production facilities in Southeastern Europe. In recent years, the ownership has transitioned under the umbrella of Comfert and Popasul Trebeș, two powerful Romanian agribusiness and logistics companies led by local entrepreneurs. This ensures that Pambac remains a domestic brand, focused on using locally sourced ingredients and maintaining traditional quality standards while employing modern manufacturing technologies in its Bacău headquarters.
