Michael Kors is a world-renowned, award-winning designer of luxury accessories and ready-to-wear. The brand was established in 1981 by American designer Michael Kors, who initially focused on high-end women’s fashion before expanding into footwear, watches, and outerwear like the puffer jacket shown in the image.
While the brand originated in New York City, its manufacturing today is distributed globally across multiple countries, including China, Vietnam, and Indonesia, to satisfy global demand. Ownership shifted in 2017 when Michael Kors Holdings Limited acquired the luxury footwear brand Jimmy Choo, followed by the acquisition of Versace in 2018.
Starting in 2019, the parent company was renamed Capri Holdings Limited, which remains the ultimate owner today. Headquartered in London, United Kingdom (with executive offices in New York), Capri Holdings is a global fashion luxury group that manages these three iconic founder-led brands.
