Tikveşli Salep is a popular traditional Turkish beverage made from milk and orchid tuber flour (salep). The brand Tikveşli was originally founded in Turkey in 1943 by the Karagözoğlu family, named after the Tikveş region in Macedonia from where the family migrated. It gained a reputation for high-quality dairy products and was the first company in Turkey to produce industrial-scale thick cream (krema) and yogurt.

In modern ownership, the brand passed through a series of acquisitions involving international conglomerates. Currently, Tikveşli is part of the Danone Tikveşli Gıda ve İçecek company. The ultimate global parent is Groupe Danone, a French multinational food-products corporation headquartered in Paris. While the product maintains its deep Turkish heritage and is manufactured locally in Turkey to suit domestic tastes, its corporate oversight rests with the French parent company.
