Kellys Bicycles is a prominent European cycling brand with its roots and headquarters in Slovakia. Founded in the early 1990s by brothers Peter and Brano Divinec, the company grew from a small bicycle rental business into a major international manufacturer known for producing a wide range of bikes including mountain, road, and hybrid models like the Saphix shown in the image.
The Saphix series is categorized as a cross or trekking bicycle, designed for versatility on both paved roads and light forest paths. While individual components like gears and brakes are often sourced from global suppliers such as Shimano, the frames and final assembly are primarily centered in Slovakia, where the company operates its own assembly lines.
Today, Kellys remains a Slovak-owned entity under the leadership of its founders through their company Kellys Bicycles s.r.o. It has established itself as one of the most successful bicycle brands in Central and Eastern Europe, exporting its products to over 30 countries worldwide while maintaining its core design and production values in its home country.
