Blooker is one of the most historic names in the Dutch cocoa industry, established in Amsterdam in 1814. Originally founded by Jurriaan Blooker, the brand gained international fame for its high-quality cocoa powder and the iconic 'Blooker's Daatje' silhouette featured on its packaging. Historically, it was one of the big three Dutch cocoa manufacturers alongside Van Houten and Droste.
While the brand maintains its classic Dutch heritage and branding, the ownership has changed hands several times through corporate acquisitions. In the late 20th century, it became part of the Dutch company Rademaker. Today, the Blooker brand is owned by Cloetta, a leading Nordic confectionery company. Despite these corporate changes, the product remains deeply associated with traditional Dutch breakfast culture and baking, with production primarily centered in the Netherlands to serve the European market.
