Panadol is a globally recognized brand of paracetamol, first introduced by Frederick Stearns & Co in the United States during the mid-20th century. The brand gained significant traction under the Sterling Drug company before becoming part of the SmithKline Beecham portfolio, which later merged into GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
In recent years, the ownership of Panadol transitioned to Haleon, a major consumer healthcare company that spun off from GSK in 2022. While Panadol products are manufactured in several facilities worldwide to meet regional demand, the Advance tablets sold in European and Middle Eastern markets are frequently manufactured at Haleon’s specialist facilities in Dungarvan, Ireland. Haleon remains the ultimate owner and operator of the brand, maintaining its position as a leader in the over-the-counter analgesic market.
