SodaStream Pepsi Syrup is a concentrated soft drink flavor designed for use with SodaStream carbonation systems, allowing consumers to recreate the classic Pepsi taste at home. This specific product represents a high-profile collaboration between two beverage giants following a major acquisition.
The Pepsi brand itself dates back to 1893, invented by Caleb Bradham in the United States. SodaStream, the system for which this syrup is made, was originally founded in the United Kingdom in 1903 and later became an Israeli-based company.
In 2018, PepsiCo acquired SodaStream for $3.2 billion, bringing the home-carbonation leader under its global umbrella. Today, while PepsiCo is an American multinational, SodaStream products and their associated syrups are primarily manufactured in SodaStream's main production facilities located in Israel. This synergy allows PepsiCo to expand its sustainable 'Beyond the Bottle' strategy by providing official brand syrups directly to SodaStream users.
