Napolina is a widely recognised brand specialising in authentic Italian food products, notably known for its pasta, tomatoes, and oils. The name 'Napolina' translates to 'Little Naples,' reflecting its roots and inspiration from the culinary traditions of Naples, Italy. The brand was originally created by entrepreneur Marino Iandoli in 1965 to bring high-quality Italian ingredients to the British market.
Today, Napolina is a market leader in the United Kingdom, providing a broad range of staples including canned vegetables, pulses, and infused oils like this chili-infused olive oil. While the brand has a strong British heritage in terms of market presence and ownership history, its products are predominantly sourced and manufactured in Italy to maintain quality and authenticity.
The brand is currently owned by Princes Group, a major international food and drink group. Princes was long a subsidiary of the Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation; however, in 2024, it was announced that Newlat Food S.p.A., an Italian agrifood group, would acquire Princes Group. This acquisition brings the brand back under Italian ultimate ownership, aligning the brand's corporate identity with its Italian product heritage.
