Founded in 1986 by architect MAA Poul-Jørn Lindberg and his son, optometrist Henrik Lindberg, the company revolutionized the industry with the introduction of the 'Air Titanium' frame. These frames are famous for being exceptionally lightweight, durable, and constructed without screws, rivets, or welds.

While the brand maintains its creative roots and primary production facilities in Denmark, it underwent a significant corporate change in 2021. Lindberg was acquired by Kering Eyewear, a subsidiary of the French global luxury group Kering. This acquisition integrated Lindberg into one of the world's most powerful luxury portfolios, ensuring its continued expansion while preserving its reputation for artisanal Danish craftsmanship.
