Bburago is a historic name in the world of die-cast model collecting, famously known for being one of the first brands to produce affordable 1/18 scale replicas. The brand was founded in Italy and gained a massive global following for its detailed recreations of European luxury cars, particularly Ferraris and Lamborghinis. Its manufacturing roots were deeply Italian for several decades, defining a whole era of European toy production.

In 2005, following financial restructuring, the brand was acquired by the May Cheong Group based in Hong Kong. Since this acquisition, production has transitioned entirely to the group's facilities in China. Today, Bburago continues to thrive under the same corporate umbrella as its former rival, Maisto. The brand remains a dominant force in the toy industry, holding prestigious licensing agreements with major automotive manufacturers and providing collectors with a mix of high-end series and budget-friendly models.
