Salrom Sare Iodată is a classic Romanian food product consisting of recrystallized iodized table salt. It is produced by the National Salt Company (Salrom), which is the sole salt producer in Romania. The salt is extracted from various mines across the country, such as those in Slănic Prahova, Ocna Dej, or Cacica, and processed to meet food safety standards regarding iodine enrichment.

The brand is deeply rooted in Romanian industrial history, with the National Salt Company being a state-controlled entity. It manages seven mining branches throughout the country. As of the current period, the company remains under the ownership of the Romanian State through the Ministry of Economy, which holds the majority stake, alongside Fondul Proprietatea. This ensures that the production and distribution of this essential mineral remain a national strategic asset.
