The Cosmos standard was founded through a collaboration of leading European organic certification bodies. It is managed by AISBL, a non-profit association based in Belgium. The ultimate ownership and governance reside with the founding organizations which include BDIH from Germany, Cosmebio and Ecocert from France, ICEA from Italy, and the Soil Association from the United Kingdom. This collective oversight ensures that any brand bearing the Cosmos Organic seal meets the highest ecological standards globally.
