Toblerone Golden Caramel - White Chocolate Honey & Almond Nougat

Toblerone is one of the world's most iconic chocolate brands, instantly recognizable by its unique triangular shape, which was inspired by the Matterhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps. Created in Bern, Switzerland, in 1908 by Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann, the name is a portmanteau of 'Tobler' and 'Torrone' (the Italian word for honey and almond nougat).

Historically, all Toblerone production was strictly centralized in Bern to maintain its 'Swiss Made' status. However, due to the brand's global expansion and the restrictive 'Swissness' legislation that requires 80% of raw materials to come from Switzerland to use Swiss imagery, the owner moved part of the production to Bratislava, Slovakia, in 2023. Consequently, the packaging evolved to remove the specific Matterhorn image and 'Switzerland' branding in favor of a more generic mountain logo and the phrase 'established in Switzerland'.

Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational snacking giant Mondelēz International, which manages the brand's global distribution and marketing. Despite the shift in some production locations, Toblerone remains a flagship premium chocolate brand sold in duty-free shops and retailers worldwide.
