Saimaza is a historic coffee brand with deep roots in Spain, having been founded in Seville in 1908 by Joaquín Sáinz de la Maza. For decades, it was a cornerstone of Spanish coffee culture, specializing in traditional roasts like 'Mezcla' (a blend of natural and torrefacto beans). Its heritage is closely tied to the city of Seville, where it maintained significant production facilities for much of the 20th century.

In contemporary times, the brand has transitioned from family ownership to being part of major global food conglomerates. After being owned by Kraft Foods (and later Mondelēz International), it is now under the umbrella of JDE Peet's, the world's largest pure-play coffee and tea company. While the brand maintains a strong Mediterranean identity and continues to manufacture primarily in Spain to serve its core market, it operates as part of a sophisticated global supply chain managed from the Netherlands.
