Nestlé Cheerios, specifically the Havre (Oat) variety shown here, is a prominent breakfast cereal brand in the European market. While the Cheerios brand was originally created by General Mills in the United States in 1941, the brand's international presence is managed through a strategic partnership.
Since 1991, the brand has been produced and marketed outside of North America by Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW), a joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills headquartered in Switzerland. Consequently, while the brand origin is American, the version found in European markets like Scandinavia is branded under Nestlé and typically manufactured in various European facilities to serve local markets. The ownership structure represents a long-standing collaboration between two of the world's largest food corporations.
