Fornetti is a well-known brand of mini-pastries that originated in Hungary in 1997. The brand became a staple of the Central European 'street food' scene by providing small, oven-fresh snacks sold by weight from bake-off ovens located in train stations and convenience stores.
In Slovakia, these products are manufactured and distributed through a franchise model primarily managed by local production facilities. In 2015, the Fornetti Group was acquired by the Aryzta Group, a global leader in the frozen bakery industry. However, in late 2021, Minit (the Slovak iteration of the brand's local legacy) and associated regional entities maintained their distinct market presence under various ownership structures following corporate restructuring within the region.
