Albalact Chefir is a traditional fermented dairy product rooted in the rich agricultural history of Romania. The brand Albalact was established in 1971 in the Alba region and has since become one of the most prominent dairy players in the Romanian market, known for its high-quality milk, yogurts, and traditional cheeses.
While the brand is deeply Romanian in its heritage and production, its corporate ownership transitioned to international hands in recent years. In 2016, the French dairy giant Lactalis acquired Albalact, integrating it into its global portfolio. Despite this change in headship, the product continues to be manufactured primarily within Romania, utilizing local milk sources and maintaining the traditional recipes that consumers have trusted for decades.
