Weis Original Fruito & ice cream bars

Weis is an iconic Australian brand founded in Toowoomba, Queensland, in 1957 by Les Weis. Famous for its signature two-tone bars, the brand grew from a small local business into a national staple, known for using high-quality fruit and cream without artificial colors or flavours. For decades, the product was manufactured in the original Toowoomba factory.

In 2017, the brand was acquired by the multinational giant Unilever. Following the acquisition, Unilever decided to close the historic Toowoomba manufacturing plant in 2020 and moved production to its Minto facility in New South Wales. Despite the change in ownership and manufacturing site, Weis products continue to be made in Australia using traditional recipes. In 2024, Unilever announced plans to spin off its ice cream division, including Weis, into a separate entity by 2025, which remains the primary path for the brand's future ownership.
