Amigo is a rapid-draw lottery game offered by La Française des Jeux (FDJ), the primary operator of France's national lottery games. Launched originally under various titles to modernize point-of-sale gambling, Amigo allows players to participate in frequent draws occurring every few minutes at licensed retailers (tobacco shops and bars).
As a French national institution, the brand and its operations are deeply rooted in France. The lottery tickets are printed and managed locally through FDJ's secure network. While the French government was historically the sole majority owner, FDJ underwent privatization in 2019. It is now a publicly-traded company listed on the Euronext Paris, though the French state retains a significant minority share and oversight of the country's gambling regulations.
