Saxa is one of Australia's most recognizable salt brands, with a heritage dating back to 1911. The brand specialized in high-quality salt products including table salt, sea salt flakes, and cooking salt. This particular product is naturally evaporated sea salt harvested from the Australian coast and iodised for nutritional benefit.

While the Saxa brand has British origins dating back over a century, the Australian arm of the brand has undergone several ownership changes. Today, Saxa is part of the Cerebos family of brands in Australia and New Zealand. Since 2018, the Cerebos Food and Instant Coffee business was acquired by the multinational Kraft Heinz Company. This means while the product is locally harvested and packed in Australia, using Australian sea salt, the brand is ultimately owned by an American global food giant.
