Sodastream is a leader in the at-home carbonation industry, originally founded in the United Kingdom in 1903. The brand became famous for its devices that allow users to carbonate tap water and add various flavors using concentrated syrups.

Starting in the late 20th century, the company’s operations and headquarters shifted significantly to Israel. In 2018, the global food and beverage giant PepsiCo acquired Sodastream for approximately $3.2 billion, integrating it into its global portfolio as part of its sustainability efforts to reduce plastic waste. While the primary production facility is located in Lehavim, Israel (the SodaStream Global Manufacturing Center), specific syrup components and bottle assembly can occur in regional centers across Europe and the Americas to support local markets.
