Kent is an iconic cigarette brand that was originally introduced in 1952 by the Lorillard Tobacco Company in the United States. Named after Herbert Kent, a former executive at Lorillard, the brand gained fame for its innovative filter designs. In the decades following its launch, the brand's international rights were acquired as part of global consolidation in the tobacco industry.

Today, Kent is owned and manufactured globally by British American Tobacco (BAT). For the South-Eastern European market, including Romania (as indicated by the Romanian health warning on the packaging), the products are typically manufactured at the BAT Ploiești factory. This facility is one of the largest and most modern production hubs in BAT's global network, exporting products to dozens of countries.
