Cathedral City is the United Kingdom's most popular cheese brand, renowned for its range of cheddar products. The brand was originally established in the 1960s, drawing its name from the historic cathedral city of Wells in Somerset, where its first creameries were located. Today, the majority of its production takes place at the multi-award-winning Davidstow Creamery in Cornwall, which sources milk from hundreds of local dairy farms across the South West of England.

Over the decades, the brand's ownership has transitioned through several major dairy companies. It was famously part of the Dairy Crest portfolio for many years. In 2019, Dairy Crest was acquired by the Canadian dairy giant Saputo Inc., marking a significant shift in its corporate structure. Under Saputo's ownership, Cathedral City has expanded its international footprint, entering markets in North America and Europe while maintaining its heritage as a quintessential British household staple.
