OnePlus, established in 2013, has rapidly grown into a globally recognized consumer electronics brand, primarily known for its smartphones and high-performance audio products like the Buds Pro series. The brand was founded in Shenzhen, China, by Pete Lau and Carl Pei with the goal of providing flagship-level technology at more accessible price points.
The global manufacturing operations for OnePlus products are centered in China, where the company leverages advanced production facilities to meet international demand. In recent years, reflecting its significant market presence in South Asia, some manufacturing and assembly have also taken place in India.
OnePlus is a subsidiary of OPPO, following a deep integration between the two brands that began in 2021. Both OnePlus and OPPO are owned by BBK Electronics, a massive multinational conglomerate headquartered in Dongguan, China. This ownership structure allows OnePlus to share research, development, and supply chain resources with other major brands within the BBK family, ensuring high quality and competitive innovation in the wearable audio market.
