Ovomaltine, known in some markets as Ovaltine, is a Swiss legacy brand originally developed in 1904 by Dr. Albert Wander in Bern. It was initially created as a nutrition-packed tonic based on malt extract and cocoa. Since its inception, the brand has become a staple in Swiss households and is highly regarded internationally for its association with health and energy.

While the brand underwent various changes in ownership over the decades, the European rights (including Switzerland) were acquired by Associated British Foods (ABF) in 2002. Today, the product shown—Ovomaltine Original—is primarily produced in Switzerland by Wander AG, a subsidiary of ABF. The brand maintains a strong Swiss identity, frequently featuring the Swiss flag and alpine imagery on its packaging to highlight its roots.

In North America, the rights to use the name Ovaltine are held by Nestlé, but for the majority of the world, including the Swiss 'Ovomaltine' branding seen here, the brand is owned and managed by Associated British Foods through their subsidiary Wander AG.
