Gu (stylized as Gü) is a premium dessert brand that transformed the supermarket chilled dessert aisle with its signature glass ramekins. Launched in 2003 by James Averdieck, the brand was inspired by the high-quality patisserie found in Belgium and France, aiming to bring restaurant-quality chocolate desserts to the retail market.

The brand quickly became a household name in the United Kingdom and expanded across Europe. Its manufacturing operations are primarily centered in the UK, where it produces a wide range of cheesecakes, mousses, and molten chocolate puddings. Gu maintains a reputation for using high-quality ingredients and sustainable packaging, specifically its iconic reusable glass jars.

Originally part of Noble Foods, the brand was acquired by the private equity firm Exponent Private Equity in 2021. Today, Gu remains a leading player in the premium dessert sector, operating as an independent entity under the ownership of Exponent, focusing on international growth and product innovation.
