Sellotape is a leading brand of adhesive tape that has become a genericised trademark in the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. The brand originated in 1937 when Colin Kininmonth and George Gray coated cellophane film with a rubber-based resin in Acton, West London.

Over the decades, the brand underwent several ownership changes. It was part of the Dickinson Robinson Group (DRG) and later Bostik. Today, Sellotape is owned by Henkel, a German multinational chemical and consumer goods company. While the original manufacturing was based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, production now occurs in various global locations depending on the specific product line and regional market requirements. Sellotape remains a household name, continuing to produce various stationery and industrial adhesive products.
