Paleta Payaso is one of Mexico's most iconic candies, consisting of a marshmallow lollipop coated in a chocolate-flavored layer and decorated with gummy drops to form a clown's face. It was originally created by Ricolino, a brand founded by the Barcel family under the Bimbo group. For decades, it has been a staple of Mexican childhood and party culture.

In 2022, a major shift in ownership occurred when Grupo Bimbo sold its confectionery business, Ricolino, to the global snacking giant Mondelēz International. Today, Paleta Payaso is produced in Mexico but managed under the Mondelēz Snacking Mexico division, benefiting from a global distribution network while maintaining its traditional recipe and cultural identity.
