Mastro is a well-established brand in North America specializing in authentic Italian-style deli meats. The brand was founded in Canada by the Maggioni family in 1978, bringing traditional European curing methods to the North American market. Mastro products are primarily manufactured in Canada, specifically at specialized facilities in Ontario that adhere to dry-cured aging processes.

Today, Mastro is part of the Sofina Foods Inc. portfolio. Sofina Foods is a major Canadian food processor headquartered in Markham, Ontario. The company has expanded significantly through acquisitions, becoming one of Canada's largest food manufacturers. In 2021, Sofina Foods expanded its global footprint by acquiring European pork processor Karro Food Group, although the Mastro brand remains firmly rooted in its Canadian-Italian heritage and local production.
