Panadol is one of the world's most recognized brands for pain relief. Originally introduced by Frederick Stearns & Co in the 1950s, it quickly became a household name globally due to its efficacy and gentle nature on the stomach compared to aspirin.
Today, Panadol is owned by Haleon, a major consumer healthcare company which was spun off from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in 2022. While Panadol products are manufactured in several facilities worldwide to meet regional demand, the high-tech 'Optizorb' formulation sold in the Oceanic and European markets is primarily manufactured in Ireland.
Ownership transitioned from GSK to Haleon as part of a strategic demerger, making Haleon the primary global entity responsible for the brand’s distribution and development across over 80 countries.
