This hand tool is a vintage Sandvik Belzer screwdriver, characterized by its classic translucent orange handle. Historically, Sandvik, a renowned Swedish engineering and steel company, expanded its portfolio by acquiring the German tool brand Belzer. These tools were often manufactured in European facilities located in Germany and Spain to leverage high-quality steel production standards.
In the late 1990s, the hand tool division of Sandvik was sold and subsequently became part of SNA Europe. SNA Europe is now the primary European subsidiary of Snap-on Incorporated, an American manufacturer of high-end tools and equipment. While the Sandvik branding is less common on new consumer products today—as the company focused back on industrial engineering and mining—the legacy and hardware of the hand tool line continue under brands like Bahco under the Snap-on umbrella.
