Philips LED Light Bulb

Philips is one of the most recognized lighting brands globally, with a history dating back to 1891 in the Netherlands. Originally founded by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik, the company began as a manufacturer of carbon-filament lamps and evolved into a massive electronics conglomerate.

In 2016, the lighting division was spun off into an independent company called Philips Lighting, which was later renamed Signify N.V. in 2018. Despite the name change of the corporate entity, the company continues to use the legendary Philips brand for its lighting products under a licensing agreement. Today, manufacturing for these LED products is largely outsourced to facilities in China and other global manufacturing hubs to meet high demand. Signify remains a world leader in connected LED lighting solutions, maintaining its headquarters in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
