Aim is a well-known brand of toothpaste that was originally introduced by Lever Brothers (now Unilever) in the United States during the early 1970s. It gained popularity as a multi-benefit toothpaste marketed for its ability to fight plaque and decay.
In the Australian and New Zealand markets, Aim was historically a Unilever brand, but it was later acquired as part of a portfolio of brands by Pental Limited. In early 2024, Selleys, a division of the Australian-based DuluxGroup (which is a subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Nippon Paint), completed the acquisition of Pental's consumer product business.
While the brand is managed from Australia, manufacturing for many of its toothpaste products is outsourced to Southeast Asia, specifically Thailand, to leverage regional production efficiencies. Despite the change in ownership, Aim continues to be a staple budget-friendly dental care option in the Australasian region.
