Osterizer is a iconic brand of blenders that originated in the United States. The brand was founded by John Oster, who started the John Oster Manufacturing Company in Racine, Wisconsin. In 1946, the company acquired the Stevens Electric Company, which had invented the liquefying blender in 1923, leading to the birth of the famous Osterizer brand.
Today, the brand is widely recognized across the Americas, particularly in Mexico where it has had a massive manufacturing and commercial presence for decades. Ownership of the brand has transitioned through various corporate mergers; originally independent, it became part of Sunbeam Corporation, which eventually became Jarden Corporation. In 2016, Newell Brands acquired Jarden, making it the current ultimate owner of the Oster and Osterizer trademarks.
While original units were manufactured in the USA, modern Osterizer blenders are predominantly manufactured in Mexico and China to supply global markets. The brand remains a staple in households due to its 'All-Metal Drive' system, which has been a signature feature for durability.
